Battered and fried until beautifully crispy, then smothered in your sauce of choice: Buffalo, BBQ, or Sweet and Spicy. These boneless chicken wings are perfect for game day and will feed a crowd!
Happy Super Bowl Sunday friends!! I thought it was only fitting to share a recipe for boneless gluten-free chicken wings today. This recipe is adapted to use gluten-free flour from The Big Man’s World, the original recipe is linked here!
These wings are perfect for any crowd and are surprisingly easy to make. I used avocado oil for frying to keep them seed-oil free, but feel free to use any high smoke point oil you’d like (or tallow).
After frying, coat them in your sauce of choice! I did three variations: classic buffalo, barbecue, and sweet + spicy (inspired by Buffalo Wild Wings Asian Zing wings, IYKYK!)
Full recipe for the wings below! Enjoy friends <3
1 pound boneless chicken breasts
1 cup all purpose gluten-free flour (or 1 to 1)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 large eggs
1/2 cup whole milk
1 cup sauce of choice (buffalo, barbecue, sweet and spicy, etc.)
1/4 cup oil for frying (I used avocado)
Slice the chicken breasts into nugget-sized pieces.
In a bowl, mix together the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk.
Dip each piece of chicken in the egg mixture, then coat it with the flour mixture. Repeat steps so that each piece of chicken is double coated. Set onto a plate to rest for 10 minutes.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken in batches for 3-4 minutes until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165F). Place the chicken on a wire rack over a folded paper towel to absorb excess oil.
Prepare your sauce of choice in a bowl (use homemade or store bought)
Toss to coat the boneless wings in your sauce and serve immediately with ranch, blue cheese, or honey mustard. Dig in!
I hope you love this recipe! If you’re gluten-free and miss eating chicken nuggets/wings, take this as your sign to make these and thank me later ;)
Have a wonderful Super Bowl Sunday!
With love,
Abigail
