The combination of hot honey and roasted sweet potato is gonna hit every. single. time.
Hi frieeends! It’s been a minute.. currently on day eight of a nasty respiratory virus that I just can’t kick.. but that can’t stop me from being in the kitchen ;)
This recipe is honestly quite simple, nothing too fancy, and easy to make- the flavors are just gorgeous together. Hot honey is paired with sweet potato and chicken, all drizzled with a creamy feta sauce. If you’re not a fan of feta, goat cheese or even burrata would be delicious here too. I had some cherry tomatoes and onions I wanted to use, which I cooked down until nice and jammy with some balsamic to add a rich depth to the dish. Overall, the dish is incredibly balanced and just a symphony of flavor on a plate!!! Serve with arugula, lemon zest, and chopped basil for brightness.
I’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t had as much time for recipe testing or content creation.. this is the first recipe I feel like I’ve put out in a hot second, and I’m so happy and excited about it!!

Full recipe for this incredible meal below. It’s perfect for meal prep too!! I hope you love it <3
Hot Honey Chicken
1-1.5lbs chicken breast or thighs, cubed
3 tbsp hot honey, plus more for serving
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp each: sweet paprika, chili powder, salt
1/2 tsp each: garlic powder, dried thyme, dried oregano
Cracked black pepper, to taste
Add hot honey, olive oil, and spices to a bowl, whisk to combine. Add cubed chicken to bowl. Using your hands or tongs, massage to evenly coat the chicken in the hot honey mixture. Set aside to marinate as you prep your sweet potatoes, and cook the chicken about halfway through roasting the potatoes.
To cook: heat a large deep skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add chicken to the pan and cook until the honey caramelizes and there are deep browned bits all over the chicken. See picture below for reference
Adjust the heat on your stove as needed to achieve the deeply caramelized bits. If you notice there is a lot of caramelization on your pan, deglaze the pan with a small splash of water or broth to get all that flavor back on the chicken.
Roasted Sweet Potatoes
2 large sweet potatoes, cubed into 1 inch pieces
1 tsp each: sweet paprika, chili powder
1/2 tsp salt
1-2 tbsp hot honey
1 tbsp olive oil, or more as needed
Preheat oven to 400F. Add chopped sweet potatoes, spices, hot honey, salt, and olive oil to a bowl. Toss to coat sweet potatoes evenly in the spices. Add to a parchment lined baking sheet and roast for ~40 minutes, or until browned on the inside and soft + fluffy on the inside!
Creamy Feta Sauce
4-5oz feta, crumbled
1/2 cup greek yogurt
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp lemon zest, more to taste
Add all ingredients to a small blender (I love Beast blenders- they make a compact size that’s perfect for sauces like this!) and blend until smooth and creamy. Using a blender will give you a pourable sauce.
Alternatively, if you prefer more of a “whipped” consistency, use a hand mixer to beat the feta and yogurt together until thick and fluffy.
Jammy tomatoes and onions
2 heaping cups cherry tomatoes, halved
1/2 large red onion, very thinly sliced (or a whole red onion if you love caramelized onions!!)
1-2 tbsp balsamic vinegar/glaze
1/2 tsp salt
large pinch dried thyme
Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add in your onions and cook them until they’ve softened and deepened in color. Turn the heat to medium-low, and cook them even further until they’ve broken down and have a “jammy” texture.
Add halved tomatoes to the pan, and allow them to cook until they are broken down and “jammy”. Add 1-2 tbsp balsamic glaze (to taste), salt, and thyme, and cook for an additional extra couple minutes to allow the flavors to meld. See picture below for reference. Keep warm until ready to serve
To Serve
arugula
lemon zest (optional, adds brightness)
extra balsamic glaze, for drizzling
extra hot honey, for drizzling
freshly chopped basil
Add arugula, sweet potatoes, chicken, and tomatoes/onions to your plate. Grate some fresh lemon zest over top, then drizzle with all the goods: balsamic glaze, hot honey, and LOTS of that delicious feta sauce! My mom and I both went back for more sauce- the creamy element with the hot honey is chef’s kiss. Sprinkle with some fresh basil, if desired. See pics below for plating inspo, and ENJOY <3
